Super Nica! How about a reasonable priced tape that can stay on a few days without taking off bootstripe paint.

The kicker is the “reasonably priced” and what that means to you, of course (isn’t that always the answer when asking about boat stuff – “It depends!”) We use 3-M fine-line tape but it has to come off in 2 days or less – and it’s NOT cheap. I suppose it all comes down to what’s more expensive – the bootstrap paint and the time it takes to do that, or the tape to protect it. And the time it takes to tape it! Until they come up with the perfect combo of longevity/protection/ease of removal, I think you’re deciding between the devils of time/money/trash/crisp lines.
You could always (I guess) cut in the bottom paint with a better brush and do away with tape all together . . .
