I recommend the stovetop espresso maker (also called a Moka Pot or a Cafetiera), which you don’t mention. This is the standard way to make coffee in Italy and Croatia (among other places). Here’s a link to one: https://amzn.to/2NTUUYI. As water heats up in the lower portion the vapor pressure builds, which forces the water up through the coffee grounds. The finished coffee, then, resides in the top portion, ready to serve. It works off gas or electric/induction cooktops and does not use any filters/podsetc. So there’s zero waste (except for the spent grinds).

I have a spacemaker drip machine installed in the wall. Makes a great cup and takes up zero space.
