A round-up of tips and tricks

One of my mom’s sayings was that if you wanted to know the easiest way to clean something, ask someone who hated cleaning.  As a kid, I was always a bit puzzled by that, as I figured that if they hated cleaning they just wouldn’t clean . . . and all you’d find would be a dirty house.

I’m starting to get what she meant.  I’ll never find cleaning as much fun as a hike, snorkeling, flying along on a broad reach or sharing a beer with friends.  But I do understand that it has to be done, particularly in the galley when stray bits of grease and food particles are an open invitation for bugs.  And I hate bugs far, far more than I dislike cleaning.  But I’m all for finding the best and easiest ways to clean!
