Hi Carolyn,
Thanks so much for your blog posts. It’s so refreshing to get these emails in my mailbox. I’ve written you before, hopefully you remember me. My husband and I are in California, itching to get sailing. Things move slower than we want. We are in the process of fixing up our house and selling it. I’ve just left my full time permanent job and am starting a temp job for a few more months until November, hopefully we will be done at that time. Looking at purchasing a boat sometime in November. My hubby is going to take off some time later this summer, early fall to start looking at boats, mainly on the East Coast so we will be separate for a while.
Anyhow, it ‘s so nice to hear from someone that has done this for a while now. I cherish all your tips especially from someone that is not shall I say in their “20s”, We’ve been watching several sail blogs on YouTube and while they are very informative, it almost seems like they are in their early to mid 20s and 30s and shall I say, we are at least twice as old and not as in good health as them. We think that maybe we are crazy to think we could do this given our age and health, not frail but not perfect either. Then comes your little email in my mailbox and it’s just great to see someone similar in age living on a sailboat and knowing that at least one other couple is doing this. I just wanted to say thanks so much for the encouragement.
