House sold

Yesterday was pretty wild. At 8:30 AM, I posted the listing for our house and we went out and put up all the “For Sale” signs. At 8:30 PM, we accepted a no contingencies offer. AND they want our furniture, dishes and anything else we want to leave behind (it’ll be a second home for them). So it’s going to be a quick closing and move out.

Our heads are spinning!

We’re suddenly a lot closer to being full-time cruisers again. WOW.

And for those who are asking, no, we don’t know what we’re going to do for hurricane season. My guess is that we’ll leave the boat in storage (it’s in a very secure spot) and first, just take a bit of down time after what will have been a wild two months. Then we’ll most likely do some travel to visit kids and other family . . . and “places we’ve always wanted to go.” Late summer or early fall, we’ll return to the boat and start some of the work we want to do before putting her back in the water. But that’s all written in the sand at low tide.

For now, we’re just thinking about what we have to do in the next couple of weeks . . .

Nothing like the summer heat of South Florida. We are part timers and our boat is in Cape Coral. Our mini farm is in East Tennessee and have gotten rid of all the critters, next paint hen for sale. Might bump into you one of these days. We are originally from the Keys. Cape Coral is nice but too far from open water and the run off coming out of the rivers are almost toxic now. The diver who does our boat wears a hard hat so he doesn’t get any of that water in his ears or mouth. So happy for you

  30. Congrats

  31. OMG! That is crazy! Fantastic! Hmmmm…someone upstairs had it all planned! Great news! Come visit me in Eastport, Maine! I have four bedrooms! House is a fixer upper, with a skunk in the basement the day I closed, but hey! I can see the bay from my window!!!!!

  32. AWESOME!! Congrats!!!!

  33. I wouldn’t say underpriced! The markets are perking up. We had full cash offers and sold over asking. Say it’s the stars aligning to get you back to the lifestyle!!! Wonderful.

  34. HOLY SMOKES that was quick!! Have fun, I’m very envious! We sold our house in 98′, never even advertised it, sold everything we had (mostly) hit the road in the RV and traveled full time for a number of years. I so miss that gypsy life. Now we have a houseboat at Katherine’s Landing, Lake Mohave., but live aboards are not allowed. (Federal Land) I’d love to live on our boat even if we shipped it to another state that allows live aboards.

  35. Wowie, well done! All your prep work paid off! ❤️⛵️❤️

  36. Time to change your Real estate Broker, Connie

  49. Waterwoman says:

That is amazing Carolyn! Congratulations to you and Dave as you wander around enjoying whatever puts joy in your heart & spirit.

  50. Jane Overbeck, Rising Tide says:

Pretty amazing, Carolyn!!! So happy for you and Dave. . and Paz, of course. As for hurricanes, think about Ortega River Marina off the St. John’s River in Jacksonville. Many insurers consider the St. John’s a hurricane hole. I hope our paths cross again soon.

  51. Congratulations indeed !
